The name of the article that I found was, “Managers Your PR working for You.” It talks about thinking outside the box and think or new ways that we can make PR work. It talks about coming up with new ways instead of always using brochures, press releases, and broadcast plugs. We need to think of new ways that we can get the message across to views. Some ideas that they give throughout the article are creating the kind of external stakeholder behavior change that leads directly to achieving objectives. Using persuasion is also very important key to people to helping their way of thinking and helping them take actions to allow success.
It is proven that public relation is based on many different aspects. The way that we act as people before they know the true facts and also change is another bring thing. Sometimes we have a hard time accepting change. When we have change or enforce something that is already in effect there are times when people’s behaviors affect the organization or group. If the effect is in a good way than the public relations mission is more than likely accomplished. Not saying that is it’s not good that they did not accomplish their goal, but usually good is better than bad.
So as the manager we need to realize that public relations can alter individual’s views to both good and too bad. We need to be open to the results that we may receive from change. And if there is one PR effort that fails please don’t give up. Always try the next thing and keep going and you will receive the best public relations results that your group deserves.
I found this article to be almost like a life lesson. Never give on something because it didn’t work. Always keep trying and you will find that one that will be perfect for yourself of for you group. The harder that we work for something also the more that we will succeed as well.

Thank you for finding this article. I found some helpful suggestions and information I plan to use in my own work. However, I felt he could have gotten to the point a lot faster, written far more clearly, and avoided most of the jargon he used in his article. It seemed to talk in circles until about 2/3 through it.
ReplyDeleteI do think that the company James wrote about that was not talking about whether or not they were going to close their plant could learn a bit from the suggestion in this article to release information to smaller groups at first before doing a big press release. In their case, giving the employees any information at all and then allowing them to speak would have given them a much better image in the media than the way they proceeded, which was to say nothing and let people make up what they did not know.
Part of your blog that caught my attention was the part about fearng change. This is totally me. It always takes me a little longer to accept change that maybe some of my friends. Moving to college in 2006 was huge! Even though I knew college wasn't going to be a bda thing, just different, it really didnt make the transition any less scary for me. After my first week I had met the people who are still my best friends here, and I totally loved school. It just took some time getting use to a new thing.
ReplyDeleteI was having a hard time getting to this article. It is probably my computer being dumb, but I would like to read it. This article sounds interesting and sounds like an article that gives useful information. I would like to read about the managers realizing that public relations can alter the views good and bad to an individual. I like your final statement that the harder we work for something the more that we will succeed.
